Making TV and Making Merry

Georges' Barb and her hubby Al We spent about 3 hours yesterday morning filming at the store for a CBC program called Living Vancouver (I tried to post their link but it's not working at the moment). It will be a 3 1/2 minute segment to run in the second week of January. Barb, Bonnie and I modeled our clothes, and we got to talk a lot about our philosphy, loving your body, celebrating your curves, etc. I think it went extremely well. Funny how exhausting that can be. The "being on" and trying to say the right thing in the right way. At least they have plenty of material to work with. It's always nice when the reporters or media people 'get' our concept and help us get it across in the right way. Fun!
Last night was G's annual staff Christmas party at the Sequoia Grill in Stanley Park. Beautiful setting, fun night - too much wine! Will I ever learn? I think G. and I were feeling particularly celebratory with the new house and all!
Today was an all day pj day - movies, blog surfing, hanging out with my G. Also nice. Hope you're all having a great weekend! More pix here...

It's a slow blogging week...

sorry folks! My computer died and I'm now borrowing G's from work temporarily so no pix and not much time on here. Lots going on including a great one night getaway with our bootcamp group up at Whistler this past weekend! So much fun. We even squeezed (or is it squoze) in a workout before the craziness started. Big event at Bodacious this week so I'm trying to fight off this feeling that I might be catching something and focusing on having a successful event. Hope you can come:) and hope you had a fantastic weekend! My George was off again first thing this morning to Toronto so I'm missing him quite a bit. It certainly is making for lovely moments of reconnection tho';)

Swap till you Drop!

This is how I feel sometimes - despite having a clothing store. Some days, it just feels like nothing in my closet suits my mood/need/desires! Perfect time for a clothing swap with the girls. If you've never done it, I highly recommend it. Especially if you have any friends who buy great clothes and end up not wearing them and they're around your size:):) Also great incentive to clear out your closet to make room for those new items. Anything that isn't chosen through the evening was handily donated to the local charity bin. Win-Win-Win!

Random Facts About Me

I was tagged by Barb and Cynthia so I guess I'd better do this:)
Here are the rules:
Link to the person who tagged you. Post the rules on your blog. Write six random things about yourself. Tag six people at the end of your post. Let each person know he or she has been tagged. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

**Random Facts About Me**

1. I started smoking in elementary school - ew! I then quit for good about 20 years ago.
2. I always wanted to be a schoolteacher when I was a young girl - I even made my own workbooks.
3. I want to own a dog but I'm too scared to commit!
4. I'm hyper-sensitive to caffeine. A cup of coffee first thing in the morning could very well mean no sleeping that night - unless I'm on holidays which for some reason seems to exempt me.
5. I was "Farrah" in our Charlie's Angel trio in high school. I never did get that flip quite right tho'.
6. I met Whoopi Goldberg. I know I put this in my last meme but couldn't find the pic so here ya go...I'm tagging Tamara , Denise and Carol. I also still owe K8 the Gr8 a meme which I'd totally forgotten about. Oops, I'll get right on that:)

It's a Dog's Life!

Well, we had our quick and crazy little getaway to Sechelt/Gibsons. Stayed at the most beautiful B&B called Hot Tamales Bay. You should definitely check it out if you get a chance! Did some shmoozing/networking/chatting/eating/drinking and then yesterday, stopped in at Barb's friends' place for a drink on the way to the ferry.
They have a doggie hotel called Happy Tails Ranch in Gibsons and when we arrived, we were loudly and lovingly greeted by 16 dogs of all shapes and sizes!!! Not being used to dogs so much, this freaked me out a bit - but in a good way. It was so funny to have all of these lovely creatures so excited and happy to see me - and lick my face, and sniff me and stuff...
Here are some pix of them in their happy place!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
I know I feel blessed every day and have so many things to feel greatful for. Don't forget to take a moment to reflect on all of the wonderful things, beings, moments in your life.
Homeward bound...

A busy, sunny weekend...

the loverly Kathleen

(notice the side of mashed potatoes!:)
Friday night we had a great dinner out at The Shore Club on Granville Street downtown. Good food, wine (G's favourite), service and live piano entertainment.
George's BOUILLABAISSE
Not an inexpensive restaurant but pretty great ambience. A great place to go for a drink before heading out for the evening. We tried to hit some live entertainment on Main Street after dinner but just missed the last set so headed back to our place for a nightcap and tried to think of happy stories. Too many crazy, sad stories out there - our taxi driver started it with his own sad story!
Saturday was very low key and included several movies.
Discovered a new walk with our friends on Sunday. There is a new seawall walk from Science World to Granville Island (3.3 km each way) on the south side of the water that I'd never tried before. There is still tons of construction going on (the Olympic village will be in that area) but you're still on the waterfront most of the way.
Granville Island is always my favourite destination!

Back at Boot Camp this morning feeling pretty strong. Gearing up for the run on Sunday. Thanks for your words of encouragement!
Can you believe this amazing weather!?!
